We are building a sustainable future
We believe that prefabrication is the technology of the future in construction
#PEKABEXGOESGREEN – our mission to go green
The idea of #PekabexGoesGreen complements our business strategy. Our mission is to reduce the environmental and climate impact of our activities to a minimum. We design, manufacture and build in accordance with sustainable development principles. Actions for the climate are a priority for us when it comes to all business and investment decisions. EPD
EPD – Environmental Product Declaration. The declaration is a document detailing the environmental impact of a product at each stage of its manufacture during its entire life cycle : analyzing the stages of obtaining materials for a given product, through the production stage, transportation, assembly, use, to disposal and recycling. Reducing the emission rate of products is one of our key goals, according to our mission statement.
The EPD certification of our products realistically results in more points for multi-criteria certification of sustainable buildings (for example, BREEAM, LEED)
CLIMATE POLICY
Being aware of the progressive climate change and its micro and macro effects, as well as the important role of business in the transition to a low-emission economy, we decided to adopt and implement the Pekabex Group Climate Policy. For us, climate protection is not just a trend, but a commitment to future generations. We want our activities and the investments we make to be environmentally and socially responsible. The goal of Pekabex Group’s Climate Policy is to counteract climate change, adapt to climate change and reduce greenhouse gas emissions released in connection with the organization’s operations. Pekabex Group, realizing how socially important the issue of countering climate change is, is taking steps to limit global warming by keeping the temperature increase below 2°C compared to pre-industrial levels and aiming to limit the temperature increase to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels.

LOWERING CO2 EMISSIONS
We are taking a number of actions to reduce CO2 emissions:
Our ambitious goal is to lower CO2 emissions and aim for climate neutrality – that’s why we are investing in photovoltaic farms and the purchase of guaranteed origin of energy from renewable sources.
CALCULATOR
Our factories lower CO2 emissions by
FACTORY | YEARLY MWH PRODUCTION | CARBON FOOTPRINT KG |
POZNAŃ | 50 | 34 250 |
GDAŃSK | 500 | 342 500 |
GDAŃSK KOKOSZKI | 500 | 342 500 |
TOTAL | 0 MWH | 0 TONS |
PLANT TREES WITH PEKABEX
One tree absorbs 6 kg of CO2 per year, and we are planting trees as part of the #PekabexGoesGreen campaign – since 2021 we have planted 1010 trees on 1121.1 m2, which absorb 6060 kg of CO2/year.*
We planted our trees in the voivodeships of Mazowieckie, Dolnośląskie, Śląskie, Warmińsko-Mazurskie, Łódzkie and Lubelskie.
SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS 2030
Through our activities, we support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, as defined in Agenda 2030 – the world’s development strategy to 2030, which includes 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
CLEAN AND ACCESSIBLE ENERGY
- We reduce CO2 emission by purchasing electricity guarantees from renewable sources,
- We reduce CO2 emissions by investing in the production of our own electricity by installing photovoltaic panels on factory roofs,
- We monitor and reduce electricity consumption by upgrading lighting to LED, upgrading production equipment to use more modern motors that consume less energy (replacing ring motors with new type squirrel cage motors, modernizing cranes)
INNOVATION, INDUSTRY, INFRASTRUCTURE
- We reduce CO2 emissions of the product by switching to low-carbon cement,
- We implement innovative technological solutions in the area of production – for example, a separation machine for aggregate and closing water cycle for production (modernization of the machinery park and improvement of technology).
RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
- We monitor and increase the percentage of recycled water use in technological processes (efficient use of natural resources),
- We use rainwater for production purposes,
- We segregate and recycle waste – we currently transfer 99% of the waste generated for recycling and reuse.
CLIMATE ACTIONS
- We increase the amount of renewable energy sources used in processes,
- We work on implementing technological changes in the production of components that reduce CO2 emission,
- We modernize the vehicle fleet by purchasing hybrid vehicles,
- We modernize or change heat sources to those with lower emission levels.
BUILDING IN HARMONY WITH NATURE
We have obtained ISO 14001:2015 certification, proving our commitment to sustainable environmental management. This confirms our ability to work following environmental standards while reducing our negative impact on the environment.

INTEGRATED MANAGEMENT SYSTEM
In 2021, the Group implemented an Integrated Management System (IMS), which enables complex management of key processes within the Group. With this approach, Pekabex Group can more effectively achieve its sustainable development goals while ensuring high quality products and services and employee safety. Pekabex Group’s Integrated Management System includes :

GREEN STANDARDS
OF GENERAL CONTRACTING
REDUCING THE CARBON FOOTPRINT AT THE DESIGN STAGE
Analysis of building materials at the design stage – use of programs that analyze a building’s CO2 emission.
STRUCTURAL ELEMENTS
Increased strength of structural elements with optimized saturation values of component materials. Increased strength of structural elements with reduced volume of component materials.
ANALYSIS OF THE LOCATION OF THE DESIGNED BUILDING
Analysis of the investment in terms of the location of the building in relation to the sides of the world and sun exposure.
SELECTION OF LOW-EMISSION MATERIALS
Analysis of building materials in terms of CO2 emission. The use of low-carbon cement for pouring floors.
USE OF RAINWATER RETENTION
Retention of rainwater and snowmelt and its reuse, such as for watering green spaces.
ELECTRIC CAR CHARGING STATIONS
Construction of the necessary infrastructure to equip certain parking spaces with chargers for electric cars.
HOUSES FOR INSECTS, BIRDS AND SMALL MAMMALS
We plan to install nesting boxes for birds, insects and small mammals according to the guidelines.
LIGHTING EFFICIENCY
Lighting the interior of the building with natural light and the use of energy-efficient LED lighting, controlled by motion sensors.
HIGH QUALITY MATERIALS
A base of suppliers, using low-emission materials with EPDs. Wood on the construction site has FSC certificates, confirming the legality of origin.
LOCAL PURCHASING
Selection of suppliers and manufacturers of construction materials in the near distance of construction reduces the carbon footprint created by transports.
WASTE RECYCLING
Waste management based on the waste hierarchy – waste sent first for recycling instead of disposal.
RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES
Construction site powered by renewable energy – equipped with photovoltaic panels on the roofs of containers.
DIGITALIZATION OF PROCESSES
Use of investment documentation in electronic form. Use of remote communication tools, limiting travel and reducing CO2 emission.
ECO TRANSPORT
Trucks delivering prefabricated elements to the construction site meet the highest standards of exhaust emission – the minimum requirement for the transport fleet is the EURO5/EURO6 standard.
HIGHEST STANDARDS AND REGULATIONS
Each construction site is ISO 14001:2015 certified, confirming that the highest environmental standards and regulations are met at each of our sites
